Moles
Holey Moley! These critters can trash the nicest of lawns with their tunnels. It's typical to find this damage in the early spring when the snow cover melts. So the common question we get is "what can be done?" There are a few things you can try before calling in the exterminator. A good start is to reduce their food source, insects and grubs. Integrated pest management (IPM) programs are becoming increasingly popular and effective in landscape maintenance. There are baits and traps that can be purchased through your local garden center, but we are hesitant to vouch for how well they work. The repair of this damage is usually as simple as raking and reseeding these small areas, a service that we often provide as part of our spring clean up.
