Japanese Beetle Control
Hand Pick the first adult beetles (the scouts) immediately upon their arrival and dispose of them. Dropping them into a container of soapy water should work well. This is a tedious task and requires diligence to be affective.
Natural Repellents try garlic, catnip, chives, tansey or dead beetle remains.
Biological control Milky spore or Bacillus thuringiensis (BT) are both bacteriums which can be applied to the soil. Tiphia vernalis and Istocheta aldrichi are both parasites of the japanese beetle. Beneficial Nematodes are parasites to over 200 species of soil dwelling insects.
Chemical pesticides or insecticides are not our preferred method of controll. We recomend licensed professionals be consulted and hired for aplication of these products.
